My Winter Make-Up

If you follow fab make-up brush brand Japonesque on Twitter, (read my post about them here), you’ll know that the are currently running a competition to win a fantastic travel case packed with brushes and other tools of the trade.

All you have to do is tweet them a photo of your winter make-up. Seeing as I really, really want to win this (competitive instinct kicking in), I thought I’d do a real-time post (yes, I’m publishing this as I write it) featuring a winter make-up look that I did this morning. Might as well make the most of finishing work early for Christmas!

I used the blues from the Front Cover Cosmetics mineral palette that I reviewed yesterday, coupled with a lot of Chanel Fantasme Illusion d’Ombre (review here )

What do you think? It might be a bit OTT for every day – yes, I did use blue eyeliner on my eyebrows, and it might be more drag queen than snow queen, but I like it!

Face: Youngblood mineral foundation in Cool Beige / Barely Bage (mixed), Nars G-Spot multiple used as blusher, Front Cover Cosmetics eyeshadow in Point Pink used as highlighter

Lips: A mix of Chanel Fantasme and Illamasqua lipgloss in Explode

Eyes: Front Cover Cosmetics in Rock Blue, Sargasso and Dark Arts (also used wet as liner). Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara in black. Nars Rue de Rivoli Larger Than Life longwear eyeliner (on eyebrows), Nars St Mark’s Place Larger Than Life Longwear Liner (on waterline) . I also used some mini blue and yellow winged false lashes that I found in a drawer of my make-up box. No idea who they’re by but they are perfect!

Keep your fingers crossed for me that this is a prize winning look!

Helen

This is gorgeous and so wearable. I’m a bit embarrassed to post mine now. Mine cross the very fine line between wearable and drag queen! x
