Some time last year I was trying to do a bit of a nail polish cull. Once in a while, the stash gets totally out of hand and I feel an urge to spring clean it, and get rid of my dupes, or the polishes that I’ll never actually wear. This also involves examining and often swatching various items that
perhaps I’ve never worn or have totally forgotten about.
No Autographs Please is one such shade. Hailing from OPI’s 2007 Holiday In Hollywood collection (which was pretty much all red polishes), this is a pretty under-rated and rarely photographed polish. I don’t know why, perhaps because it is from a collection that came and went with very little fanfare and then was subsequently discontinued, who knows?
As you can tell from the state of my cuticles in these photos, this was a quick swatch to decide whether the polish made the cut and would be kept in my collection. I should have cleaned them up better – I don’t think the blue cremeis an especially good addition…
Any way. The formula isn’t brilliant. I think this was when OPI were tweaking their Big-3-Free formula, and as a result, No Autographs Please is kind of sheer. Those of you with shorter nails wouldn’t necessarily notice this but I have very white tips and a visible nail line and as a result, I can struggle with some jellies. I think this was four coats in the end.
It was worth it, however. I have no other pinky-red shimmers in my collection that also contain flecks of blue. Can you see it? Its gorgeous. I couldn’t actually see the blue in the bottle, so it was a really pleasant surprise. Actually, it was the inclusion of the blue shimmer flecks that made me decide to keep this one in my collection – it is just so unusual. And actually, looking back on these photographs, I’m really glad that I did. The blue tones of the main colour are just so flattering and I think this looks rather good. Plus the name cracks me up.
What do you think? Would you have kept this one?

I like it but I wouldn’t keep it if I could flog it. I’ve never heard of that collection. I didn’t get into this business into ’09 and it has never registered on my naildar…
I’d definitely keep it. Love this shade! And the name is indeed very amusing
This is my FAVOURITE OPI colour – everyone always comments when I wear it and its quite unusual in that it looks great if my nails are long or short. It has to be a keeper!
