Balance Me Rose Otto Hand Cream
2012

Hello, my lovelies! Have I got something nice to share with you. No doubt your hands are probably feeling very dry with the temperatures dropping. My paws definitely more care with a nip in the air (hey, don’t roll your eyes at my poetic attempt!), so I was pleased to be given a new hand cream to try and from a brand I’m less familiar with but keen to know more about.
Rose Otto hand cream is the latest product to join Balance Me’s range, a company which takes pride in using natural ingredients and manufacture in Britain.
Balance Me was founded 6 years ago by sisters Rebecca and Clare Hopkins who wanted to create a simple, affordable yet luxurious aromatherapy-based natural bath and body range. It’s something that’s progressed from the kitchen table to the shelves of John Lewis and beamed into homes via the QVC home shopping channel.
They don’t test on animals and everything they make is free from all the notorious nasties AND it is gentle enough for psoriasis sufferers, as Sian Jones the co-partner and director at Balance Me can confirm (her husband and step-daughter have psoriasisand swear by the wonders of Balance Me.)
The magic ingredients for this cream are arctic cloudberry, cameila and kukui nut oils and a blend of rose otto, palma rosa and rose geranium essential oils. The packaging design itself is elegant and beautiful as well.
A decent hand cream will deliver on hydration, protection from anti-aging and maintain softness. An aromatic scent is a bonus but not essential. Rose Otto ticks these boxes and the softness lasts. Like, really lasts. I used it a couple of times throughout the day and a little bit goes a long way. It is a very thick, rich cream, which can also be used on heels, feet and elbows.

If there is one description to sum up this hand cream, it’s what my colleague at work said when I asked her to try it: “It’s food for your skin”. I can definitely confirm she was delighted with it. And I really like it in case you haven’t twigged.
Balance Me’s Rose Otto hand cream costs £14.50 for 100ml, which is very reasonable for a home produced product and is available online at www.balanceme.co.uk. It will also roll out into Waitrose supermarket later this month and should you wish to see more products, John Lewis and Whole Foods Market stock Balance Me.

The ingredients sounds really luxe. I love rose geranium essential oils and exotic nut butters in this one.
Hi Sue Lin, it’s a lovely hand cream, doesn’t make my hands feel greasy like some other hand creams do. Also pleased it’s made in the UK and reasonably priced.
Sounds every bit as delicious as their Rose Otto lip balm, although I did ask my friend to pass me my “Rose otto lip balm” and she replied “risotto lip balm, that sounds vile?”! I was standing in a field feeling very sorry for myself last week, regularly topping up my lips with the lovely lip balm and eating Maltesers and the Rose Otto flavour mixed with the Maltesers to give a lovely turkish delight flavour to them, very nice indeed! Am definitely going to keep my eye out for the hand cream now too. xx
