Boutique by Sainsbury’s
This September will see the arrival of supermarket Sainsbury’s make-up range, the chic-titled Boutique. The last of the food chain giants to bring out their own cosmetics collection, like its rivals Sainbury’s is set to compete on price and quality, and having previewed the products they are going to be launching in a couple of months, the verdict is pretty damn good.
Apart from lip glosses, eyeshadows and lipsticks, there are (not surprisingly) nail polishes, and I’ve been trying out a couple of shades. The vampish plum above is called Under The Thumb and the one below is Devil And The Deep Blue Sea – truly the inkiest blue I’ve seen.
Thick to apply and opaque in one coat, I opted for a double layer to ensure an intense finish. I slapped on a coat of Seche Vite and amazingly, the polish didn’t shrink. These shades are lusciously glossy and clearly a lot of effort has gone into creating these because just the packaging alone is worth a mention.
I’m not sure of the prices but I hazard a guess they will be a few pounds so cheap and cheerful yet bang on with quality.
What do you think? Are you curious to give Sainsbury’s new make-up range a try?
