Bumble & Bumble Defrizz
2011
My hair is a constant trial to me. I went through many years of chemical straightening processes and thinking that my GHDs would only ever be prised out of cold, dead hands. A year or two ago, I decided to throw caution to the wind and permit my hair to return to its natural “glory”.
It’s curly. I don’t like it. I’ve never really liked it on a day to day basis although sometimes I look back on photos and think how nice it looked. But to me, I’ve always preferred the feeling of sleek, shiny straight locks. I can’t explain it, I just like it better. Silly really as I get told a million times how straight-haired friends wish that they had curly hair and various lectires from people telling me I should be grateful for what I’ve got. Bah.
Anyway, in my “back to nature” quest, I’ve discovered the world of serums. Once I learned that less is more (after spending a day in London looking like I’d dunked my head in a chip pan), I am coming round to using serums on a regular basis, and when I was sent Defrizz by Bumble and Bumble, I gladly tried it out.
What I’ve learned is that you really should not touch or fuss about with curly hair, particularly when it is wet. In this way, frizziness lies. So my routine now is to wash my hair, wrap it in a towel whilst I put my makeup on, then take the towel off and apply whatever product I’m in the mood for that day.
The picture here is about the size of the actual bottle. If you’ve used Frizz-Ease or any other types of serum, then you know what you’re getting with Defrizz. It’s not as slippery as some cheap brands that I’ve tried and it slides easily throughout the hair with little fuss or greasiness. Although the bottle is so small, a little goes a long way and this has lasted me for the last two months, with still plenty left to use up.
My hair feels shinier, more controlled and I feel I look significantly less like Sideshow Bob. Whilst it doesn’t prevent the dreaded rain frizzes, it does keep my hair in check during the course of the day. So, it’s a hit. Just look how happy I am.

Bumble & Bumble Defrizz normally costs in the region of £13, although is on sale at the moment on the Windle & Moodie website where you can grab yourself a 200ml bottle for just £9.46.

[...] the other week when I reviewed Bumble & Bumble Defrizz? Well, I receoved more comments on the eyemakeup I ...

1 I like the packaging
2 I love your hair (nice photo btw)
3 Seems a tad expensive – I adore serum-products for hands/face/whatever but this is a bit pricey for my taste
4 Heck, if I find it cheapo I’ll still get it
I think your hair looks beautiful. Better still though is that eyeshadow. Looking gorgeous, girl!
It looks so very pretty ! !
Sideshow Bob! *dies laughing* I feel you, when my hair is long it’s pretty much just like yours. I’ve used the Frizz-Ease and it helps, but I hear Bumble & Bumble make fantastic products for curly headed folks. Your hair looks gorgeous.
Looking gorgeous with those curls. I know everyone wants the opposite of what they have. When my hair was curly I hated it. Hormones have messed me up. My hair was super straight. I got my period and it went curly! Whatever style of hair was in fashion at the time, mine was the opposite. In ye olden days we didn’t have all these wonderful products! Now my hair is somewhat wavy. I wish it was curly. I use Frizz Ease. Since my hair is a grey mix it gets frizzy, I hate that. I set my hair with velcro rollers and I love that look. If I’m lazy I throw it in a ponytail and roll the tail into a roll and clip it. This acts like a roller and I have waves when it’s dried. I just don’t have the volume that I get with rollers. Hair is so annoying. Does anyone love their hair?
Holy Moly that eyeshadow is ace!
Bumble & Bumble are winners for me, they make it look as if I have hair!
