A couple of weeks ago I had my very first Collin Resultime facial. And so did my mum. It wasn’t just any old facial, it was pretty special. I feel I should point out a treatment by this sophisticated Parisian skincare brand is in a league of its own, focussing on every skin concern and crucially, anti-ageing.
They offer 11 different types of facials, so there is bound to be one to suit you and not only is there a range of salon treatments to choose from, Collin Resultime also has a homecare line of equally enticing products to pamper your skin with.
To be fair, I hadn’t heard of Collin Resultime (established over 10 years ago) until they got in touch and I don’t suppose many of you have either. It feels like a well kept beauty secret and now that I know about it, I want to let you all in on it too.
Collagen is a vital ingredient in keeping our skin looking young, and as we get older, our natural production of it depletes. Collin Resultime has been using ingredients in its products to stimulate the production of our natural collagen and other proteins, and it is precisely this practice that they pride their treatments on.
I don’t remember the last time mum and I went for a beauty treatment together so this was a really nice opportunity for the two of us, more so for mum because she hardly gets to relax and enjoy herself.
It was decided mum should have the New Lifting Resculpting Treatment, which is ideal for mature skin while I had the Regenerating Peeling Professional Treatment perfect for all ages because I absolutely needed it with how dry my face was.
We were in the highly skilful hands of training director Dona Tait who is responsible for preparing therapists at Collin’s UK academy. Judging by how thorough her consultation and work is, you realise the exceptional standard of practice each therapist has to accomplish.
The Lifting Resculpting Professional Treatment is inspired by surgical procedures to redensify and relaunch the cellular energy, lift and reshape facial contours and redefine facial volume.
These funny looking tools called Cryo Spheres are used for a heating effect as well as a cooling effect. How this works is under the influence of heat, Collagen fibres retract themselves, which leads to an effect on skin firmness and tone. The heat also provokes pore dilation and a microcirculation stimulation which helps to diffuse the active ingredients. The heat effect enables an elimination of toxins which are responsible for skin ageing while the cold temperature known to have a toning effect, tightens pores and provokes a vasoconstrictor effect, which leads to skin firmness.
Mum really enjoyed her treatment and her face looked fresh and firmer. Her facial focuses more on reshaping the face from visible signs of ageing so it’s more about massage and movement and without going under the knife.
Then it was my turn with the Regenerating Peeling Professional Treatment, which wipes out dead cells and re-launches cell renewal resulting in smooth, plumb and luminous skin. Suitable for all skin types (except sensitive) and for all ages, the treatment lasts a blissful hour. It can either be done as a one-off or as a corrective course of 3 to 6 treatments.
Despite exfoliating 2 to 3 times a week in which I sometimes use my Clarisonic, my skin was still very dry particularly on my cheeks. I never skip a day without cleansing so the only explanation was that perhaps the skincare products I’m using weren’t working. It is an occupational hazard of a beauty blogger to sample many different products which could possibly have contributed to this effect.
Thankfully Donna was able to restore my face to a bright complexion and my skin felt baby soft. My shoulders and neck also received some TLC. The entire treatment was deeply relaxing with no use of electrical equipment so it’s ideal for those who are pregnant too.
The results were instant but more importantly, lasting. I can feel the effects of the facial several days later. I don’t recall ever noticing this before from other facials I’ve had. I found applying foundation was easier and my make-up and face glowed whereas before it was looking a little flat.
I don’t go for enough facials. In fact I don’t think I had a single one last year. No, wait – scrub that – I don’t go for facials often because I can pretty much do it at home. Cleanse, tone, scrub and mask – that’s all it is to it, isn’t it? Well those are usually the kind of facials I’ve had in salons and spas.
You definitely won’t get that with Collin Resultime. If it were that obvious, they would be marketing at-home facials. When you book a professional treatment, you expect a extraordinary service – something you can’t recreate at home and you want noticeable results that last more than a few hours. Collin Resultime leaves you feeling and looking fabulous without the intimidation (and that also applies to the price). Bear in mind the treatments are exclusive to spas and salons only.
The Lifting Resculpting Professional Treatment costs from £80 and lasts one hour and 15 minutes and the Regenerating Peeling Professional Treatment is from £70 for an hour. It’s a steal for what is essentially the red carpet of facials.
