Ooh it’s been a while since I posted about pretty make-up. Well we can’t be neglecting that side of things on Just Nice Things so to remedy that, take a look at these lipsticks from high street favourites MeMeMe.
These satin lip cream lippies are enriched with Shea Butter and Vitamin E and lightly scented. There are 10 colours to choose from of which I have been testing three shades: Hot Magenta, Berry Crush and Tuscan Red (from left to right on the top picture and the swatches below).

First up is Hot Magenta, an eye-popping neon pink and quite a statement colour. I love the shade but it was very buttery and sheer. You’ve heard of lipsticks dry fast, well this is the opposite – messy in application and far from long-lasting. Disappointing.

Berry Crush is a bluey-purple frost which applied beautifully and is my favourite out of the three. Unlike Hot Magenta this one definitely has a satin finish, is pretty pigmented and stays put on the lips. I’ve received a few compliments when I’ve worn this.

Finally Tuscan Red, a reddy-coral frost. Similar to Berry Crush in consistency and appearance, it’s a bold colour but one I’m fond of.

I am a fan of MeMeMe though I’ve only sampled a few of their products. Their lipsticks are a first for me and I have to say I’m on the fence about them. Amazing colours but a bit of a let-down when you realise how much they retail for and how top notch their Seventh Heaven Enriched Facebase primer and Goddess Rocks are. I have bought a few of their lip glosses which I would recommend you try instead.
MeMeMe’s Long wear Satin Lip Cream lipsticks cost £8.50 and are available in Superdrug stores, Superdrug online and directly from MeMeMe where currently they are on special offer for £6.50.

Plenty of items still available in my blog sale…please have a look!

MeMeMe seem to be pulling out rabbits from their top hat here – their Seventh Heaven Enriched Facebase is fabulous and now this: a miniature tub of gold nuggets I stumbled across on the compulsory wander around my local Superdrug whenever I’m in its vicinity. One quick sweep with my finger tips, and I was sold.
I love the shape of these – they’re not your usual spherical shaped bronzer but shaped like gold nuggets and with a glorious mix of old gold colour and bronze too.

The pigment is rich and smooth, and the product is so versatile as well. Use as a highlighter or a bronzer, try the individual rocks as eyeshadow or add some shimmer to your gloss for a copper lip tint are apparently the tips recommended from their website.

I used a nugget straight to my eyelids and it applied remarkably well (no crumbling). The colour stands out so boldly on its own and I was even complimented on my eye make-up. No one could have guessed I applied it quickly in the ladies loos at work ahead of an evening out.
Pretty packaging, great name and of course, a superb product. Thoughts?
Goddess Rocks – Luxury Bronzing Rocks retails for £12.50 and is available online at http://www.mememecosmetics.co.uk, www.superdrug.com or in Superdrug stores.

Primers. Some reckon it’s not necessary, I am with the crowd that abides by it. Prepping your skin with a primer makes a huge difference – your make-up looks better, lasts longer – it’s probably one of the best creations. It takes no time to slip into your routine either. Dab a bit after moisturising, let it absorb into your skin for a few minutes before applying your foundation.
I was recently sent a 10ml sample pot of Me Me Me’s Seventh Heaven Enriched Facebase primer to try. The actual full sized pot is 30ml but does its magic really work wonders? For £15 it had better.
It’s also worth pointing out this product is a moisturising primer. Enriched with shea butter, vitamin A and Beta-Carotene to prep and prime skin, the scent actually reminds me of grapefruit (and it’s fabulous!)
How does it perform? Amazingly! It absorbs into the skin effortlessly and my foundation applies smoothly and evenly. A small dab is enough so although the pot might not contain much, it lasts the distance. I also feel like my make-up holds up much longer, there are no creases or a need to touch-up. In fact I’ll go as far as to say I prefer this primer than my Laura Mercier one (which is excellent).
At half the price of my usual choice of primer and a generous sized portion, I am impressed with MeMeMe Seventh Heaven Enriched Facebase and will certainly buy it.
MeMeMe Seventh Heaven Enriched Facebase costs £15.00 and is available from www.mememecosmetics.co.uk and Superdrug stores nationwide.
