Diamond Cosmetics – Dirty & Flirty
Once in a while a polish comes along that I love above and beyond the rest of my collection. I know I’m fickle and that the obsession lasts about as long as the manicure itself but there is no denying that this was a massive lemming of mine.
It seems like Diamond Cosmetics have been around forever now, but I remember this post of Scrangie’s, back from June 2009, where I first laid eyes on Dirty & Flirty. And so a lemming was born. Thankfully, the lovely Kitty, from Kitty Luvs Color came to my rescue as we were organising a swap whereby I was desperate to get my mitts on some Diamond polishes.
And now the confession of a nail blogger. Half the time I think that it’s actually the shopping, or the thrill of having something new that we love, just as much or perhaps more than the actual polish itself. Why else would this have sat in my untrieds for a year or more before I tried it out? I remember the almost physical tug of “needing” this, and when I put it on, I knew I was right as I do really love it.
This is three coats and it really is taupe perfection. It’s work appropriate loveliness, with just enough shimmer and frost to make it interesting. I admire the fact that Diamond keep turning out these fabulous polishes for less than £3.00.
Now then. UK ladies. To my knowledge, Flashy Nails has been the only place that we were able to purchase Diamond Cosmetics nail varnishes. Unfortunately for us (but for a very good reason), Jennifer is closing down her online store. She has a vast number of Diamond polishes (and some Konad stuff too) at a clearance price. I urge you to head over there and grab yourself a bargain. She has batches of polishes on sale for £7.00 for six, and trust me, this is well worth having. Jennifer’s customer service is second to none, and although I am sad that her site is closing down, I am thrilled that she has become a mother and is therefore too busy to carry on with the shop. Go here to buy!
