George at Asda: Shock
2011

Ooh it’s been a long old while since I got the opportunity to review an Asda polish. There isn’t a store near me, you see. I must have moaned about this
long and hard enough, as the other day, I was overjoyed to receive some samples of George nail varnish to keep me happy/stop my whinging (delete as appropriate).
Now we all know that you can’t beat a good, classic red, so I was thrilled to try this one out. I have a dozen (and some more) of these types of shades already but they always hit the spot with me. Shock is no different. It is a glorious rich red that applies like an absolute dream. This is ONE COAT, people.
I need to do a side by side comparison, but this reminds me strongly of that OPI classic, I’m Not Really A Waitress. I think they are close enough to not need them both, so obviously if you can get your mitts on this little beauty then I would certainly recommend that you do so. It’s only 5ml but also, it costs £1.50. Amazing.
What do you think? I’ve got some more of the range to show you in the coming weeks but certainly with Shock, I think we’re off to a cracking start.

Fabulous! I don’t have this one but have tried several George polishes and they’ve generally been excellent.
I don’t shop at Asda, but was surprised recently when I complemented a girl serving me in Whistles on her nail polish. Assuming it was Chanel Paradoxal, you can imagine my shock when she told me it was from Asda! It looked identical.
I have to confess that I was really sceptical about trying an ASDA nail polish, because well, come on, it’s ASDA!! But, I decided to give it a go, and I have to say I was impressed with the quality for such a cheap alternative!
You could say, it was a “shock” haha…*coughs and leaves*
Now that I am in the UK, I must give these brands a try. But I don’t have an ASDA near me either.
That red is gorgeous!
That’s really pretty on you. Never heard of the brand. Guess it’s only in the UK. I just bought I’m Not Really a Waitress just a few months ago. Haven’t worn it yet.
