Illamasqua’s Skin Base foundation – the proof

A few days ago, I posted my verdict on Illamasqua’s new Skin Base foundation. I realise I haven’t demonstrated the product so without further ado, I present how Skin Base looks on me…

To sum up, it’s a beautiful product to apply, wear and feel confident in. It just melts into your skin (with very little amount needed) and lasts all day without the need to touch-up. I’ve worn it with and without a primer and the outcome is impressive on both levels. Coverage is remarkable just on a single application plus it feels amazingly light. Congratulations, Illamasqua – you ought to be very proud of Skin Base.

Your makeup looks gorgeous – what lipgloss have you got on?

Thank you, Meeta – one of the rare occasions it all fell into place! I’m wearing Bourjois’s 3D Effet lip gloss in Framboise Tonic. The eyes is Sleek’s Good Girl palette that I finally got a chance to try out, in case you’re wondering. Also used one of the eye shadows as a blusher.

I love it. I’ve been really unwell recently and its taken its toll on my skin, its been rather lacklustre etc I have to say on wearing Skin Base with some bronzer etc I do have a glow!

Your foundation looks lovely! I was wondering if you could give your foundation shade in other brands? Your skin tone seems similar to mine and I’m guessing I’m between a 12-14. Do you know your Mac or Bobbi Brown shade?

Thank you, Majda. I’m an NC42 in Mac (Studio Fix, Studio Sculpt) which is a spot-on match with shade 12 of Skin Base. I don’t remember my shade in Bobbi Brown. Hope that helps!

Gorgeous! You look like a model. I adore your haircut. Your makeup looks flawless. Glad you found a good foundation. It’s much easier to find foundation if you have a light or medium complexion. I never understood how makeup companies could ingnore so many other skin colors. It’s nice that there more readily available.

Lucy and Barbara – thank you, you’re far too kind! No photoshopping, which is why you can see a few lumps and bumps but you can also see the true results of the foundation. I still get excited putting it on in the mornings! The photos were taken in natural daylight by the way.
