Today sees the launch of a special partnership between L’Occitane and Marie Claire – the La Flamme Marie Claire* scented candle created to raise funds for the education of women. Available in stores nationwide and online, 100% of profits from the sale of each candle will be donated to three chosen charities in order to help transform the lives of thousands of women and young girls around the world.
The three worthy causes are Rosa (England, Scotland and Wales), Toutes à L’Êcole (Cambodia) and Entrepreneurs du Monde (Africa). This is the second year running L’Occitane and Marie Claire have joined forces in the UK although La Flamme Marie Claire originally began in 2010 in France and has since sold 583,000 units, raising 1,791,446 euros for the selected charities. This year L’Occitane and Marie Claire hope to raise more than 300,000 euros.
The fragrance of this candle is a floral bouquet opening with notes of Freesia and Red Berries, heart of Lily of the Valley, Rose and Jasmine and delicately mixed with warm notes of Amber and Rosewood, and it’s absolutely divine. It’s a beautiful scented candle with a very strong message, helping girls and young women at home and beyond to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to claim their rights, free themselves from poverty and live, positive, fulfilling lives. My dad has always said education is something nobody can take away from you and he’s absolutely right.
You can pick up your very own La Flamme Marie Claire at all L’Occitane boutiques and through their website for £9 as of today.
