MeMeMe Drama Eyes
2011

In case you hadn’t realised, I do love a new eyeshadow. So when I heard recently that MeMeMe Cosmetics were releasing five new baked eyeshadow quads, and that one of them contained black and blue shades, I seriously could not resist asking if I could feature this one on the blog.
I don’t really know a lot about MeMeMe. I know they are a budget-ish brand, stocked in Superdrug. I’ve tested out one of their nail varnishes but this is my first foray into their eyeshadows.

I think I’ve said before but I am really into using my eyeshadows wet at the moment. As Autumn draws into winter, I am craving more and more dramatic looks and I find that dampening a brush really helps to make colours more impactful and showcases any shimmer they might have. Plus using a slim angled brush can help create the most perfect smokey eyeliner with a wet dark shade.

Drama Eyes is composed of four dark and moody baked eyeshadows. It’s quite a small pan so you can’t really attack it with a big brush unfortunately. Like most baked shadows, you have to dig at the surface a bit to get the real colour payoff. I used the grey all over the lid, and then added some of the cobalt blue shade to the crease and the outer edge of the lid, before finishing off with the navy in the crease as a contrast, and then finally adding a smooth line of the black as liner.

What do you think? I love the iridescent blue shade and the darks are a perfect compliment to it. I’d struggle to create this look with dry eyeshadow as the domed product is a little bit fiddly, but wet over primer is absolute perfection. Very happy indeed. It looks a little grey here – I think I might use the shimmery blue on the lid next time instead.

What colours are you wearing this Autumn?
MeMeMe Cosmetics are available in larger Superdrug stores, and you can order online here, where the Eye Inspire Quds retail at the bargain price of £6.50.

Love MEmeme blushes so i will have to try these things out!! Am a big fan of anything affordable that actually produces better versions of things than other brands. I much prefer their blushes to Benefit’s!
Love that blue shade. These remind me a lot of the Gosh baked palettes- great for a sheer smokey look.
Really pretty eye makeup. Using this dry doesn’t give much color. I’m suprised. Usually baked eye shadow are really good.
I love this Helen, it looks amazing on you, I keep looking at their products in Superdrug, will have to pop back and take a look at these, that blue in the quad is stunning!
