Nails Inc. The Hurlingham
2010
I’ve been staring at this on my shelf for quite a few months now, waiting for an appropriate time to give it a go.
Despite sounding like a bad stomach after some gone-off pork product, The Hurlingham is apparently a little area of West London near Fulham. See, you learn something new every day.
I was sent this as part of one of Nails Inc’s “Buy A Few,
Get Several Free” offers that they seem to do with increasing frequency. I didn’t choose the colour, rather, it chose me.
So, isn’t it always the way that after whinging about the application of Nails Inc jelly polishes, I finally get my mitts on a creme that applies really, really well, and I just don’t love the colour…? Typical!
Suddenly, when using The Hurlingham, I understand why people rave about Nails Inc. It was just the right consistency, with no glooping, runniness (is that a word??) stickiness, bubbling or dragging. Happy days.
BUT this would be about £10 if you wanted to buy it. For something that is smaller than an OPI and generally far more hit and miss. I just don’t get it. Nails Inc are soooo expensive, yet they frequently do offers where you can get 10 for £50 and so on. It’s as if they know they are ripping us off or
something…?
Any way, if corally orange is your thing, and you’ve got a spare £10 knocking about, then why not? For me….hmmmm…..not so much.

I like the colour, but wouldn’t spend a tenner on it – as much as anything it looks like one Barry M and maybe a 17 that I already have. But if it comes up as a magazine freebie I’d certainly consider it…
I think it looks spectacular on you. You have the nails for this!
I completely agree about the pricing of Nails Inc. Completely.
No way would I pay RRP for them.
And the caps are so shoddy. The gilt-effect just rubs and shrivels off. Not a fan.
I really like this colour, but I have a similar one by OPI which probably cost me less than a Nails Inc one would. I think they retail at £10.50 at the nail bar in Debenhams here. Somehow I’ve never noticed before that you get less than an OPI. And I hate the wide cap on them, I find it difficult to hold!
Well, this color is very nice and the formula sounds great, but I admit I wouldn’t pay so much for a bottle…..at least not for “common” creme…
Shame you don’t like this on you. Sounds like such a good formula. I think it would make a fantastic pedicure polish.
The colour is ‘nice’, but that’s all I feel there is to it. Many similar colours in the market that outperform Nails Inc currently in terms of quality as well. Even though this one seems to have turned out well.
£10 is definetly too much for it, for a standard creme. Especially as their quality (I find) is sometimes hit and miss.
On my screen that looks like hoker red rather than orange!
Must admit I haven’t bought nails inc in a while chaina glaze and GOSH seem to have won me over these days
Lisey – Yes, it’s not all that unique a colour but as a freebie it’s not bad!
Jenni – I want to know where the Nails Inc fans are!
Andrea – They are definitely tricky to hold. I get concerned the cap will flip out of my hands and fly across the room!
Tuli – “Common” creme – haha, that’s about right!
Lucy – I think you are right. Maybe it’ll fare better on my toes.
Kay – You are spot on. The formula is totally hit and miss. I’ve reviewed several Nails Inc polishes over the past 18 months and this is the first one I have found with a decent formula.
Brit – Adjust your settings! This is definitely a corally-red rather than a red-red. And I agree – give me a China Glaze any day of the week.

Oooooo this is my type of shade. I just photographed my polish collection for a post and pretty much 99% revolve around a similar color. However texture wise I feel like they could be better (opi somewhat annoying me with their inconsistency from shade to shade) so i may need to try some nails inc shades!
