New CID Cosmetics i-tint
My one and only experience of a tinted moisturiser was Laura Mercier a few years ago, which looking back, wasn’t a great one. I’m not sure I was given the correct shade to start with by the poorly attentive LM sales assistant (I must have been there 60 seconds max) and the product itself felt sticky plasticky.
But I am not going to dismiss tinted moisturisers over one bad experience. New CID Cosmetics has a brand new range of tinted moisturisers – the i-tint – for all skin types. Its brightening formula promises to give a healthy glow and natural appearance and allows for light, buildable coverage. Extracts of jojoba, sunflower and mimosa help to soften and plump the skin, whilst nourishing and moisturising the skin throughout the day. On top of this, the i-tint has added SPF15 and light diffusing agents to make the skin look instantly flawless.
There are four shades available – Ex Light, Light, Medium and Medium Dark. I was sent Medium Dark which is a perfect match. The i-tint comes in a big sexy and sleek chrome-finished tube (42ml) with a pump for easy and hygienic dispensing.
Tinted moisturisers are an alternative to wearing foundation but with extremely less coverage. They’re ideal for daytime wear and for those who hate the feeling of pasting on make-up or just fancy a fuss-free day but want a boost to the complexion.
The i-tint formula is very lightweight. It is recommended you use a primer before and then a concealer to cover up any imperfections though I didn’t bother with the former and only needed a concealer for my horrendous dark circles.
So I popped a few pumps of the tint on my visage and braved the crowds of Brent Cross shopping centre at the weekend. And this is how I looked after I returned home (excuse the smudgy lip work):
Well I had to look twice at this picture because I can’t believe all I’m wearing is the i-tint (minus the concealer under the eyes!). It blends in with my skin tone, gives my face a healthy glow, looks natural and kept my skin hydrated all day without touch-ups.
Without sounding smug, I’m much happier and confident with my skin these days. It’s in a far superior condition than it was many years ago when I had an imbalance of hormones with breakouts and blemishes. I frequently leave the house without any make-up on (sheer laziness) though knowing I can rely on a tinted moisturiser that is effortless to use and reliable has persuaded me to stick with New CID Cosmetics’ winning formula.
Understandably a tinted moisturiser is not for everyone (certainly by the limited choice of shades available) but it’s a fabulous alternative, if like me, it works for you.
New CID Cosmetics’ i-tint Tinted Moisturiser costs £26 and is available from www.newcidcosmetics.com.
