I interrupt this beauty blog to bring you news of something I’m pushing my support behind…and it’s this:
I normally wouldn’t hijack the pages of Just Nice Things for something totally random but this is an exception…
House of Dreams is the debut novel by Callum Jacobs, who was my A Level Sociology teacher. Actually he’s still teaching A Level (and GCSE) Sociology at my old school.
Any way, it’s taken many months of listening to him talk about writing a book, actually writing it, trying to get it published (his wife is a saint to put up with this!) and finally, it’s ready.
I would love if you could give it a try and support a new author who’s had this book published independently. It is hard to get a book published but I didn’t realise how difficult until Callum told me. I am very proud of ‘Mr Jacobs’ for persevering with this and wish him all the luck in the world. Oh and I am dead chuffed one of the characters in the book is named after me.
House of Dreams is available on the Kindle where you can download a sample chapter for free on Amazon but it is also in paperback. By the way I am not getting anything from this…other than maybe a free latte from Callum – just supporting a very good friend. Thank you!

how awesome!!! i’ll get a copy…my favorite book is actually by one of my former english teachers, “Push Not the River”. crazy good.
