OPI Designer, de Better!
How’s about another sneak preview of one of the OPI Muppets polishes then? I showed you Gone Gonzo! last month, one of the crazy glitters from the collection, now it’s the turn of Designer, de Better! which is one of the shimmery metallics.
No, I don’t get the name. Maybe all will be revealed when we get to see the new Muppet film later in the year. But lets look at the polish, for it’s a good one. At first, when I swatched this on a bit of white paper, I thought it was almost a holo. But it isn’t I’m afraid.
What we have here is a chromey silver foil that is jam packed with pink and orange fleck. Totally smooth and easy to apply, this was easily opaque in two coats. Those with short nails could manage with one. I have no topcoat here as it dried super fast, plus I’m always nervous of using quick-drying topcoat over metallics.
There are zero brush strokes, and the flecks in it cover up most of the flaws in the surface of the nail, which is impressive for a metallic. Like I say, the application and appearance is perfect. Under electric light, this takes on an almost mirrored quality (complete with slightly rusty orange particles!), reminiscent of a lighter Chanel Kaleidoscope.
I really like this. Like most foils, the wear is excellent. Well, I’ve been sporting this since Friday night and it still looks good as new. And I love the fact that I have nothing like this in my entire collection – a rare event indeed.
What do you think?
