OPI Greenwich Village

I’m really not a mad fan of this colour, so how I ended up with two of them is totally beyond me.

Surely this is the Kermit the Frog of nail varnishes? It’s really green – a kind of sludgey green though, with a lot of yellow to it.

I’m not sure if I have an off bottle of this but it is extremely sheer. This was about five coats, so I really do think it would be better as a layering polish to give a Kermit glaze effect over a co-ordinating shade.

From OPI’s Mod About Brights collection of 2008, Greenwich Village got a great reception from the blogging community. It’s a bright green after all!

I know a lot of bloggers complain that there aren’t enough green greens out there, so this certainly scratched an itch for a lot of people…although not so much for me.

In fact, I wasn’t really crazy about any of this collection. All just, well, too….bright for me!

What do you think? Are you a fan of Greenwich Village?

Definitely too green for me! I only like dark green polishes.

Five coats would drive me mad, but I do like the colour!

I had a mani done in this at Montreal airport with Electric Eel as a layered polish. I love it. The manicurist said EE was too sheer and that was good advice!

Love this shade of green. Looks fantastic on your long nails. I love every shade of green. I haven’t worn this one yet. If it’s sheer I’ll just have to find something to layer it over. Congrats and best wishes on your marriage. I meant to send you these wishes awhile ago. This was a complete suprise to me. I was wondering when the wedding was going to take place. I hope you’ll share some pictures. I’m so happy and thrilled for you both. Mwah!

Oh, haha! I actually LOVE this color although I wish it were more opaque. I had to use three coats to get it semi decent and probably could have used a fourth one. But I just love the shade for some reason.
I hope you’re having loads of fun on your honeymoon, I’ve been thinking about you.
