OPI I Brake For Manicures
Well well. I thought I had all the polishes I wanted from OPI Touring America, until the other day when I popped into my local department store to re-stock up on Nail Envy. And there was the Touring America collection up close. I did manage to get a good look at the collection at the preview event back in April, and at the time I remember stating that I Brake For Manicures was “probably the least original of the collection”.
I eat my words. At the time, pressganged against the wall by a gaggle of journalists and bloggers, I didn’t pay this little bottle the attention it probably deserved. OK so it isn’t radically different to a host ofother polishes I have in my collection, but when I clocked the last bottle of it sat there on the OPI display, it called to me.
In the bottle, I Brake for Manicures is a very dusty, taupe toned plum. It looks murky and smokier than the average aubergine creme. It applied perfectly and was opaque and streakless in two coats. Seriously luscious and impressive formula. Super shiny as well. On the nail it dries slightly darker than in the bottle, which is a bit of a shame as it loses someof its smokiness.
It’s a really interesting colour though. Is it brown? Is it purple? I can’t decide. Whilst it might not be everyone’s idea of what a traffic-stopping polish should be like, I really loved wearing this one. Like a new fluffy jumper, it is comfy, effortless and totally signals that winter is on the way.
What do you think? Which polishes did you pick up from this collection?
