OPI Senorita Rose-alita
2011

This polish is one of the main reasons why, for a period of time, OPI had a reputation of being a brand for the more mature lady. We all know that their mainstay is berry pinks and red toned shades and it is a temptation just to
pass over these colours thinking that they’re all the same.
Senorita Rose-alita (which is a total mouthful) hails from OPIs Mexico collection of 2006, and has been added to the Classics collection, meaning you can easily track it down if you like it.
This totally reminds me of something that my mum wore when I was growing up. I distinctly recall her having a rose-toned nail polish that she wore a lot. No idea what it was though.
I kept this in my untrieds for ages thinking that it was going to be a run of the mill colour that I had no real desire to try out. Looking at the photos though I’m annoyed that I waited so long, as it turns out that it is really very pretty. Just look at that golden shimmer! It pleases me.
I think there is the possibility that I have a duff bottle of this, or perhaps a pre Big-3 free version. I’ve read on a number of blogs that this gives opaque coverage in two coats, but mine needed at least four. So sheer. I ended up layering it over a co-ordinating pink base, which was annoying. Still, it does look lovely, don’t you think?
Is this something you would wear? Do you like OPI’s more conservative shades?

Lovely shade!
Actually this veers just about on the right side of pink, leaning a little corally which saves it from the realm of ‘mature ladies who lunch’!

This is a beautiful shade of rose. I love the shimmer in it. I’ve never seen this swatched. Might have to pick this one up.
That is so beautiful!
