Kat Von D in the UK needs to happen. Spain, I love you but why must you get Kat before us? Exclusivity may belong to Sephora but I can feel it in my waters that it won’t be long before Kat crosses over to the UK. It’s got to happen! Until that momentous date, we can only source our fixes from Sephora USA and Sephora Spain.
Let me put it out there – the tattooist’s liquid lipsticks are worth the hype. They apply smoothly, the formula is as light as a feather and it does not peel or feel like plastic. I don’t know how Kat Von D’s cracked the code for matte liquid lipsticks, I just know they’re a regular staple in my collection and likely to be the ones I restock on.
I took a chance and purchased four different shades – Outlaw (red), Bauhau5 (magenta) and two natural toned ones, which are Lolita and the warm terracota Lolita II. The one I am getting the most use out of is Lolita, which is unbelievably complimentary with my skin tone and perfect to wear every day. My mum wants me to get one for her when I’m next in the States and I am inclined to purchase a few back-ups.
Of course with Kat being Kat, there are a number of obscure shades (black and navy for example) and come to think of it, I am tempted to try one of them simply because the formula is so good (and without parabens).
The Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are packaged in a decorative slimline tube with a doe-foot applicator. There are 29 remarkable shades in the entire range though you will never find them all in a Sephora. I scoured four different branches in New York (really wanted Vampira which was sold out) and these are the ones I handed my credit card over for. Kat Von D’s make-up range is a mix of hit and miss (the black Tattoo Eyeliner has not blown me away) but these are definitely a huge hit.
Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks cost $20 each excluding US taxes and are available from Sephora.
