Grab a spoon, the Body Shop’s latest bath and body collection is so deliciously fruity you’ll be finding it hard to stop yourself from eating it.

As we are coming into season with British raspberries timing couldn’t be more apt with this special edition Early-Harvest Raspberry range which is made up of their iconic Body Butter (£13), Body Lotion £8), Body Scrub (£12.50), Shower Gel (£4) and Eau de Toilette (£8.50).

So why is it called ‘Early-Harvest’? Well these early-harvested raspberries are picked to preserve their skin-boosting antioxidants. Raspberries are my favourite berry fruit so I’m totally enamoured with the products I’ve got to try – the Body Butter and Body Scrub. Lusciously fruity and sweet, if only this was edible.

If you’ve tried the blueberry Body Scrub, then the consistency and texture of the raspberry one is exactly the same – it looks and feels like sloppy jam with the seeds acting as an exfoliant. It’s not your average scrub (there’s no lathering) but the seeds exfoliate effectively against the skin, leaving a hint of a raspberry scent. It makes a change from the usual creamy/sugary formulas and if you don’t like your scrubs with soap suds, then give this a try.

All this talk of raspberries has got me thinking…it’s been a while since I’ve made this:

Last summer when the first Victoria’s Secret store opened in Europe (in London’s Westfield Stratford), you couldn’t move an inch inside. I wasn’t excited by the buzz of the American chain because a) I’d already  visited a Victoria’s Secret shop in Miami and seen it all, and b) I wasn’t impressed by the tacky and overpriced lingerie.

But there are a few gems Victoria’s Secret has, and I am not talking about the sparkly bits on the DD cups. Their lip glosses are puckerlicious and if you can decipher their extensive range of scented toiletries, you can’t get better than Strawberries and Champagne.

The wonder of this first came to my attention when my friend Emily in the states sent me some bubble bath and body lotion about 10 years ago. I’d heard nothing but good things about Strawberries & Champagne plus there was nothing else quite like it on the market (as far as I knew).

So I picked up the 250ml fragrance spray and 200ml hand and body cream in a multi-buy offer when I was in Westfield Stratford along with some other scented scrubs, mists and lotions. I have found the rest to be quite sickly sweet and distinctively average but Strawberries & Champagne is a stand-out.

With a soft scent that’s long-lasting, this one is flirtatiously fruity (hey, steady on!) and exudes femininity and girlieness in the right doses. I can’t remember how much these are priced at, but Victoria’s Secret’s multi-buy deals are something like 5 for £25.

The spray is refreshingly cooling with conditioning Aloe Vera and Chamomile and the lotion which contains avocado, almond oils and honey, moisturises without leaving you feeling greasy. Together the two are dynamite!

Forget the lapdancing looking underwear, and make a beeline for this delectable delight instead whether or not you’re partial to some bubbly. I don’t drink so this is the nearest I’ll get to sampling a classic flavour…

If you’ve tried these toiletries from Victoria’s Secret, is this what strawberries and champagne really smells of?
