Sexy Hair!

Remember back in the summer when I did a series of guest posts over at Zuneta?

Well, the people behind the Sexy Hair brand were reading my sob story about the state of my hair and got in touch with me to see if I wanted to sample some of their products. And with a name like Sexy Hair, I was extremely tempted to see if the products lived up to the name.

I was sent three products to try. All designed for damaged, thick and coarse hair. My hair isn’t particularly thick, but it is extremely damaged from years of chemical straightening plus GHD and hairdryer abuse. I don’t dye it, but I was feeling that my hair was crying out for help.

The shampoo is an “ultra-nourishing formula for severely dry, aging, over-processed and/or colour-treated thick/coarse hair which will cleanse, add intense moisture, help repair and strengthen, and prolong colour.” It is a lovely shampoo. Usually I go for shampoos by brands like MOP, which smell tasty and citrussy but never really make my hair feel clean. Well, this does. It smells fresh, and it does what you want in a shampoo  – my hair immediately felt clean, without any buildup or stickiness.

I decided to give the Colour Extend conditioner a go, although like I said, I don’t dye my hair. But this is a nice and light conditioner that spreads easily throughout the hair and left it sleek and bouncy. I much preferred using the Soy & Wheat Tri-Wheat formula deep conditioner though. I am obsessed with deep conditioners and have used a number of them over the years. This one is great as it doesn’t take too long to work (ie you’re not pacing around the house with it piled up on your head having to wait up to half an hour before you can hop back in the shower again to rinse it off). It is also light, and I found I was able to use this 2-3 times a week without buildup or finding it weighed my hair down.

Oh and I love the packaging of these products. Sleek and simple, they looked great in my white bathroom. So all in all, I’m impressed. Now that my hair is in better condition and I am embracing its curliness, I am tempted to try out the brand’s products designed especially for curly hair. Watch this space!

Sexy Hair products are available in salons and are stocked widely online, with prices averaging £11.99 for the shampoo and £13.99 for the conditioners.
