China Glaze Bahamian Escape

Read Time:1 Minute, 35 Second

I thought perhaps we could have a little break from glitters and sparkles  with a bright, bright blue.

Bahamian Escape is a classic China Glaze polish that I received in my swap with Nixxy. I am a bit ashamed of the fact that I still have items from swaps that took place six months ago to review. But rest assured ladies, I still love everything you sent me and just because I haven’t featured it yet doesn’t mean I’m not going to.

Bahamian Escape is the first China Glaze creme I’ve ever tried. I am very familiar with their jellies and glitters but don’t have many cremes. I’m not sure why, as this is fabulous. A thick coat would have made it opaque in one, but I prefer to do two thin ones.

I wore this on my toes when I went on holiday back in September and absolutely loved it. It looks good at the bottom of a sunlounger by the pool! Also in well over a week on my toes, being exposed to suncrea, sand, chlorine and sea-water, it did not chip once. Hurrah!

In all honesty, I think I prefer this as a pedicure polish rather than a manicure. But I did really enjoy wearing this for a couple of days, especially as it was the rainiest day ever yesterday and I was instantly cheered by this gorgeous summery blue.

I am also toying with the idea of wearing this on my toes on my wedding day as my “something blue”. What do you think?

I’ve always said I don’t subscribe to only wearing certain colours at certain times of year. Wear what you want, when you want.

I’ve already started seeing promos for China Glaze and OPI’s Spring collections and it looks like bright shades like Bahamian Escape are going to be all over our tips again in Spring 2010.

  1. So glad you like it! 😀 It looks great! Such a heartbreak to be allergic to it. Hopefully they will release it later formaldehyde resin-free…

  2. Hmm the shade is nice but just can not get into it as a creme. If it was that shade but sparkier or something would probably love it. Think I have figured out why I don’t like cremes, they look too much lime emulsion you would paint a house with.

  3. Would make a great pedi. I like blue cremes anyway. Fingers, toes, whatever! All good.
Would CG Peri-wink-le be too muted for the big day/honeymoon?

  4. I love cremes most of my collection is made up of them! I love the block of colour they give you which just is full pigment rather than glitter or shine!

I have a few blues kicking about but I am desperately waiting for spring to kick in as I have a fab new tangerine which I am desperate to show off in sandals!

  5. Just picked this up recently myself! I didn’t have any of this collection. I think it’s a gorgeous shade. I’m guilty of not swatching all of my swaps too! I keep trying to get EVERYTHING swatched and it’s just an impossibility.

  6. Such a beautiful shade of blue. I think it would be perfect on your toes for your wedding. Most unexpected look! Nice to look at such a blue in the dead of winter. I love China Glazes cremes.

  7. Oh no – I don’t have Peri-wink-le and I’m on a no-buy!
Oh no! I have a couple of other blue cremes to try first but I’m liking this one.

  8. I’m trying to get my swap stuff done – I like to wear stuff rather than just swatch so it’s no great shocker that I have such a backlog.
Would love to see your review of this one.

  9. I love the look of the new China Glaze collection, I do. But at the moment I can’t buy any so I am reverting to my older ones that I also love just as much.
